Position Overview

Role Summary

We are looking for a committed Customer Care Coordinator to support our operations. This role involves handling incoming calls in a call center environment and accurately inputting customer information into our systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promptly address telephone inquiries and manage order intake.
  • Collect co-payments and coinsurance for services provided.
  • Evaluate service delivery methods while considering reimbursement and cost implications for the organization.
  • Inform customers about product availability and options.
  • Ensure positive and empathetic interactions with customers, caregivers, referral sources, and payers.
  • Make informed decisions based on customer needs, vendor pricing, and third-party reimbursement possibilities.
  • Create new customer accounts, enter and verify work orders, and monitor account accuracy.
  • Resolve customer issues by identifying problems and coordinating appropriate corrective actions.
  • Respond efficiently and professionally to inquiries regarding equipment and supply coverage.
  • Recommend additional products or services based on customer diagnoses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Employment Requirements

  • Background check.
  • Drug screening (if applicable).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (if applicable).

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with medical equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical billing practices and reimbursement processes is preferred.
  • Background in the medical field and administrative record management is preferred.
  • One year of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interpret various forms of communication.
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in email communication and internet navigation.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, printers, and computers.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry office equipment as needed.
  • May require lifting and transporting patient equipment (minimum of 35 pounds).
  • Potential for on-call duties and driving a company vehicle for deliveries.
  • Requires interaction with patients and equipment with potential exposure to pathogens.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, and listen as necessary.
  • Close vision required for reading small print on documents and screens.
