Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equal Opportunity Investigator to join our team at the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. As an Equal Opportunity Investigator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our organization maintains a fair and inclusive work environment for all employees, applicants, and customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough and impartial investigations into allegations of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Interview witnesses, review documents, and analyze data to gather facts and determine the validity of complaints.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports and summaries of findings, including recommendations for resolution and follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate with senior management, HR, and other stakeholders to develop and implement strategies to prevent and address discriminatory behavior.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on equal employment opportunity laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing laws, regulations, and best practices in equal employment opportunity and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, such as human resources, law, or social sciences.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience conducting investigations, preferably in a government or corporate setting.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing equal employment opportunity, including Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working in a transportation or public sector organization.
  • Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and practices.
