Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fraud Investigator to join our team at the City of New York. As a Senior Fraud Investigator, you will play a critical role in investigating and resolving cases of fraud and ensuring the integrity of our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough investigations into allegations of fraud, including reviewing financial records, interviewing witnesses, and analyzing evidence.
  • Analyze and evaluate complex financial data to identify patterns and anomalies that may indicate fraudulent activity.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent and detect fraud, including identifying vulnerabilities in our systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to share information and best practices in fraud prevention and detection.
  • Prepare and present findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and three years of satisfactory, full-time experience in investigations, credit evaluation, asset searching, or evidence research.
  • An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college or university, including 12 semester credits in criminal justice, forensic auditing, or a related field, and one year of satisfactory, full-time experience as an investigator.
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university, or education and/or experience equivalent to the above.
