About This Role

As a Maintenance Supervisor at Fairfield, you will play a critical role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our apartment communities. You will be responsible for supervising and motivating a diverse team of maintenance staff, while also making independent decisions during after-hours emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Property Maintenance: Perform, schedule, and supervise maintenance repairs throughout the property, including scheduling and conducting preventative maintenance.
  • Operations: Use property management software to manage open service repair requests, create and manage a budget, and maintain an accurate inventory of maintenance items.
  • Team Management & Customer Service: Lead, motivate, and develop a successful, inclusive, and diverse property maintenance team, provide timely and constructive performance feedback, and deliver outstanding customer service to all residents.
Requirements
  • Three or more years' hands-on apartment or building maintenance experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair work.
  • HVAC-EPA (Type II) or EPA Universal certification is required.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend budgets, supervisory experience required.
  • Experience with Yardi or other property management accounting software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Experience using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior customer service skills, including the ability to manage difficult customers and/or situations.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
  • Availability to be on-call and responsive to after-hour emergencies.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
