Lead Housekeeping Supervisor

Reporting to the Executive Director of Environmental Services, the Assistant Supervisor is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness of various facilities throughout the institution by conducting quality audits. This role involves ensuring that staff have the necessary equipment and supplies to perform their daily tasks, monitoring employee performance, and collaborating with the Senior Supervisor to implement disciplinary actions when necessary.
The Assistant Supervisor will support the Operations Manager and Senior Supervisor by addressing cleanliness concerns raised by clients and working with the department to achieve goals set by the Director.
Work PerformedEnsure that all assigned buildings maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness that meets or exceeds the standards established by the Environmental Services department through the completion of required monthly quality audits.
Assist the Operations Manager or Senior Supervisor in assigning housekeeping responsibilities, which may include cleaning various types of spaces, delegating project work, and managing additional tasks due to employee absences.
Provide staff with adequate supplies and equipment for their daily tasks. In the absence of the Senior Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor may be required to assist with administrative processes, including payroll deadlines and correcting critical system issues.
Manage attendance calendars for housekeeping personnel, ensuring compliance with monthly sign-offs. Oversee employee performance and, if standards are not met, collaborate with the Operations Manager or Senior Supervisor to implement appropriate disciplinary measures.
Oversee vendor management inventory to minimize overconsumption of supplies and ensure proper use of microfiber cleaning materials. Work closely with the support team to manage equipment maintenance, providing necessary training and reporting any malfunctions.
Enter maintenance requests to address facility concerns and attend all required leadership meetings or training sessions. Conduct start and end-of-shift meetings with housekeeping staff to address any issues and manage customer complaints effectively.
Ensure that all housekeeping personnel complete monthly safety training to maintain compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with the safety director to report any work-related injuries.
Minimum Qualifications/Education RequirementsTwo years of progressive experience in facilities management, specifically in housekeeping and custodial operations, or two years in a lead worker or supervisory role. Preferred certifications include Registered Executive Housekeeper (REH) or Certified Executive Housekeeper (CEH).
Skills required include the ability to instruct and maintain records, manage and motivate housekeeping staff, and demonstrate technical knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment. A valid driver's license is necessary.
ExperienceA minimum of four years of cleaning or related experience is required, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience to gain knowledge of housekeeping operations.
