The Maintenance Team Supervisor will oversee a group of technicians, ensuring the prompt repair of machinery to reduce downtime and enhance productivity. This role requires effective communication skills to advocate for Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery objectives as established by upper management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the status of equipment failures within the first hour of downtime.
- Maintain an updated status board during critical downtime periods and initiate communication updates via email and collaboration platforms until repairs are finalized.
- Conduct daily assessments of equipment failures in the maintenance management system and provide necessary guidance to team members.
- Ensure timely communication with Production Engineers when their expertise is required.
- Complete assigned Maintenance Service Requests (MSRs) from breakdown incidents, reviewing timelines and documenting all corrective actions.
- Coordinate team schedules for the repair of malfunctioning parts and log breakdown incidents appropriately.
- Prioritize repair tasks based on their impact on production efficiency, particularly for bottleneck machinery.
- Review team member performance during breakdowns, submit parts requests for unavailable items, and oversee breakdown patrols during periods of no equipment failures.
- For the PM shift, confirm receipt of all preventative maintenance parts for the month, develop priority schedules for outstanding PM tasks, and create/update weekend/shutdown schedules for maintenance activities.
- Implement and rank all Kaizen initiatives and follow-ups, ensuring timely submission of parts requests for out-of-stock items.
- Facilitate training sessions for team members, ensuring adherence to training plans and completion of skill evaluations, while keeping the daily 4S sign-off sheet current.
- Review and approve timecards, submitting requests for obsolete parts and items with zero stock.
- Generate and review assigned MSR Weekly I-Mark Audits, conduct weekly safety assessments, and prepare maintenance awareness reports as necessary.
- Manage pre-shift meetings, daily morning briefings, and cross-functional reviews in the absence of the group leader.
- Track and assess activities to ensure departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
- Promote adherence to all departmental safety policies.
- Ensure that maintenance team members have the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively.
- Associate's degree in a relevant field with over 5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance within a fast-paced industrial setting.
- Proven experience in a high-demand industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to interpret maintenance manuals and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated capacity to analyze failures and implement effective corrective measures.
- Strong communication skills to influence personnel at all levels and drive change.
