Sales and Dealer Development Assistant Manager

The Assistant National Sales Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the National Sales Department Manager and Area Sales Managers (ASMs) in achieving Suzuki's sales and distribution objectives.

Key responsibilities include assisting in the planning, implementation, and management of ASM's and dealer development strategies, programs, and maintaining a strong Suzuki brand image to dealers and retail customers.

The Assistant Manager will collaborate closely with the National Sales Department Manager to drive business growth through dealer network expansion, effective sales strategies, and sales staff development and evaluation.

Key Tasks:
  • Assist in dealer network expansion and optimization to identify potential dealers for expansion in target markets.
  • Generate data and analysis to identify appropriate points for soliciting new dealers.
  • Support staff development, training, and evaluation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing dealers to ensure optimal performance and satisfaction.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Assist in dealer concerns and provide solutions to enhance their performance.
  • Support the ASM's in developing and executing sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Work with ASMs to create and deliver effective sales presentations and training programs for dealers.
  • Analyze and understand market trends, state and federal laws, and regulations applicable to the power sports and motorcycle industry and dealer distribution channels.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales activities, including sales performance, market penetration, and dealer evaluations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and suggest improvements based on data analysis.
  • Provide ad hoc research and analysis on various subjects as requested by the executive team.
  • Assist in planning and executing promotional events, exhibitions, and ASMs and dealer meetings.
  • Collaborate on special projects and initiatives related to sales and dealer development.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist with processing new dealer set-up and dealer change packages.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
  • Five to 10 years' experience in the power sports or motorcycle industry preferred.
  • Two to five years' experience in sales, dealer development, or related field roles.
  • Two to five years' experience in a supervisory or assistant manager capacity.
Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sales-related applications.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to support ASMs and dealer development activities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong project management skills.
  • At a minimum, basic motorcycle and ATV riding skills.
