The Long Island Council On Alcoholism & Drug Dependence, Inc. is in search of a dedicated Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Clinician to join our team. This full-time role is centered around addressing the behavioral health and wellness needs of employees and their families.

The ideal candidate will possess the necessary licenses and credentials as a mental health counselor (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, MHC, LMHC, etc.) and have completed a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution. Experience in working with individuals facing mental health challenges through individual, group, and environmental interventions is essential for enhancing employee occupational health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct consultations and assessments to evaluate the clinical status of employee clients, determining suitable treatment interventions.
  • Design and implement clinical pathways and protocols for addressing specific behavioral health conditions.
  • Identify at-risk employees and develop preventative strategies to mitigate psychological or physical decline.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors on employee performance-related issues.
  • Utilize a solid understanding of behavioral interventions and evidence-based practices for substance use disorders and mental health issues.
  • Perform swift and precise clinical assessments of mental and behavioral conditions.
  • Engage in brief client interactions, including through telephonic and E-Therapy methods.
  • Exhibit sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions, maintaining composure in challenging circumstances.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver employee performance training seminars, comfortable presenting to various group sizes in both formal and informal settings.
  • Travel to multiple office locations to provide on-site training seminars.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computing and data entry, including electronic medical records.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment, engaging with staff, clients, and organizational leadership.
  • Participate in departmental services as needed, including clinical crisis on-call support.
  • Manage and enhance monthly communications and digital marketing efforts to employer clients and staff.
Travel Requirements

Moderate travel is expected, utilizing the candidate's own vehicle.

Experience and Skills

Gain valuable experience working within a non-profit agency that is OASAS-certified for education and prevention. The role involves providing direct services to adolescents, adults, and families dealing with mental health and substance use issues through various social work modalities.

Conduct psychosocial intake evaluations, develop treatment plans, and facilitate necessary care referrals to ensure continuity of care in accordance with agency and state guidelines. Connect individuals and families to essential community, medical, and educational resources.

Facilitate and host workshops on stress management, leadership, and communication skills for various organizations.

Act as a liaison between individuals, employer relations, and external mental health professionals to ensure seamless program admittance and continuity of care.
