Position Overview:

The Long Island Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence is in search of a dedicated Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Clinician. This full-time role focuses on addressing the behavioral health and wellness needs of employees and their families. The ideal candidate will possess a valid mental health counseling license (e.g., LMSW, LCSW, MHC, LMHC) and hold a Master's Degree from an accredited institution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough consultations and assessments to evaluate the clinical status of employee clients, ensuring appropriate treatment interventions are implemented.

• Identify at-risk employees and collaborate on strategies to mitigate psychological or physical decline; provide guidance to supervisors on employee performance matters.

• Utilize a solid understanding of behavioral interventions and evidence-based practices for mental health and substance use disorders.

• Perform swift and precise clinical evaluations of mental and behavioral health conditions; engage in brief client interactions, including telephonic and E-Therapy sessions.

• Demonstrate sound judgment in assessing situations and making informed decisions, managing challenging interactions with professionalism and composure.

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver training seminars focused on employee performance; comfortable presenting to diverse audiences in various settings.

• Engage in moderate travel to various office locations to facilitate on-site training and workshops.

• Proficient in data management and electronic medical records.

• Collaborate effectively within a team, fostering positive interactions with staff, clients, and organizational leadership.

• Participate in departmental services as needed, including crisis intervention and clinical services.

• Manage monthly communications and digital outreach to employer clients and staff through email marketing and social media platforms.

Travel Requirements:

• Moderate travel is expected, utilizing the candidate's own vehicle.

• Directly assist adolescents, adults, and families dealing with mental health and substance use challenges through various social work methodologies.
