Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Service Operations Manager to oversee our service department at TradesMAX Charlotte. This role is crucial in ensuring that our service operations run smoothly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Leadership:
    • Guide and mentor service technicians and support personnel to optimize operational efficiency.
    • Recruit, train, and assess team performance to foster a culture of excellence.
  2. Customer Engagement:
    • Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction levels by delivering timely and quality service.
    • Effectively manage and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback.
  3. Operational Oversight:
    • Supervise daily service activities, including maintenance, repairs, and fleet oversight.
    • Evaluate service department performance to ensure productivity and quality benchmarks are achieved.
  4. Inventory Control:
    • Oversee parts inventory to guarantee availability and reduce service delays.
    • Collaborate with procurement to secure necessary parts and supplies.
  5. Safety and Compliance:
    • Implement safety measures and ensure adherence to industry standards and company protocols.
    • Conduct regular safety training sessions for all service personnel.
  6. Financial Oversight:
    • Assist in the financial planning and budgeting for the service division.
    • Track expenditures and apply cost management strategies.
  7. Reporting and Analysis:
    • Generate and present performance reports, metrics, and forecasts to senior management.
    • Analyze operational trends to identify opportunities for enhancement.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • A high school diploma is essential; an associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., business management, engineering) is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Prior experience in a management or supervisory capacity within a service-focused industry, ideally in equipment rental or construction.
    • Strong technical understanding of rental equipment, machinery, or similar fields is advantageous.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
    • Strong customer service focus and adept problem-solving skills.
    • Proficient in utilizing computer systems, inventory management software, and service management applications.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Requirements:
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate rental equipment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical technology, equipment maintenance, or a related area, including hands-on experience with rental or heavy equipment.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience is required, with 2 to 4 years in a leadership role within a similar sector.
  • Certifications in mechanical technology or related fields (such as automotive or industrial mechanics) are preferred, along with familiarity with relevant tools and diagnostic equipment.
