The Automotive Service Manager at Pete's Auto Service will be tasked with supervising the operations and administration of the service department within our automotive repair facility.

This role is essential in guaranteeing that customers' vehicles receive timely and effective service, repair, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the daily functions of the service department, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource distribution. Ensure that all service advisors, technicians, and support personnel are executing their responsibilities efficiently.
  2. Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns, and complaints. Keep customers informed about their vehicle's status and strive to meet or exceed their expectations.
  3. Recruit, train, and supervise service advisors, technicians, and support staff. Provide mentorship and support to enhance their performance, resolve any issues, and foster teamwork.
  4. Enhance the workflow and productivity of the service department to ensure prompt completion of repairs and maintenance tasks. Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) such as average repair time, customer satisfaction, and overall productivity.
  5. Establish quality control protocols to ensure that all repairs and maintenance work adhere to industry standards and meet customer expectations.
  6. Manage the inventory of parts, tools, and equipment necessary for service and repairs. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the timely availability of essential supplies while managing costs and minimizing waste.
  7. Prepare and oversee the service department budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses, revenues, and profitability. Identify potential areas for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
  8. Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines. Implement and enforce proper safety protocols and practices within the service department.
  9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors. Work alongside sales and marketing teams to identify opportunities for business expansion and customer loyalty.
