About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Program Manager to join our innovative team at National Guard Employment Network. As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a critical role in leading complex software development initiatives and driving business outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Acumen: Apply your expertise in modern software development processes to guide program planning and execution, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and standards.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze complex challenges that arise during project execution, identify root causes, and drive development of innovative solutions to overcome them.
  • Program Management: Assist in leading cross-functional program activities, ensuring alignment with program outcomes and timelines. Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to facilitate communication and resolve issues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality software solutions. Foster collaboration and communication among team members to achieve project milestones.
  • Learn and Grow: Engage in continuous learning and improvement by being partnered with a mentor who will help curate your TPM craft journey. You will attend workshops and training opportunities, participate in our Technical Program Management Guild, and interface with other TPM professionals.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to continual process improvement initiatives to enhance program delivery efficiency and effectiveness. Participate in retrospectives and propose actionable improvements based on insights gained.
  • Risk Management: Identify program risks and issues early, and assist in developing mitigation strategies. Monitor risks throughout the program lifecycle and escalate as needed to ensure timely resolution.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to leverage a customer-centric lens to represent the customer's needs and preferences within a program or initiative. Familiarity with modern software development tools and methodologies, such as Jira.
  • Soft Skills: Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Internship and/or work experience in SaaS software development or related fields.
