Role Overview:
As a Bilingual Inside Mortgage Loan Originator, you will play a crucial role in assisting our members with their mortgage needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating first mortgage loans from our membership base.
  • Assessing pre-qualifications to recommend suitable programs and products.
  • Issuing prequalification letters and necessary disclosures.
  • Processing referrals and online applications efficiently.
  • Reviewing credit reports and securing loans in the secondary market as required.
  • Conducting thorough audits of files to ensure compliance with guidelines.
  • Providing timely good faith estimates and disclosures to borrowers.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance in line with our credit union standards.
  • Exercising sound judgment while adhering to established limits and guidelines.
  • Demonstrating integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism at all times.
  • Fostering a positive attitude with members and partners consistently.
  • Gaining proficiency in customer-facing technology to assist members with self-service options.
  • Supporting branches and members with all mortgage lending inquiries.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Exceptional customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in government (FHA/VA/USDA) and conventional loan origination.
  • In-depth knowledge of the real estate market and understanding of Federal and State mortgage regulations.
  • Experience with loan underwriting and secondary market standards.
  • Proficient in computer usage, internet navigation, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Eligibility to meet SAFE Act requirements for MLO registration with NMLS.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory; a bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
