Role Overview
As a Bilingual Inside Mortgage Loan Originator, you will play a crucial role in assisting our members with their mortgage needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating first mortgage loans from our field of membership.
  • Assessing pre-qualifications to identify suitable programs and products for clients.
  • Issuing prequalification letters and necessary disclosures.
  • Processing referrals and online applications efficiently.
  • Reviewing credit reports and securing loans with the secondary market when applicable.
  • Ensuring compliance by auditing files for complete information.
  • Providing good faith estimates and other disclosures to borrowers within three business days of application.
  • Maintaining a professional appearance in line with our credit union standards.
  • Exercising sound judgment while adhering to established guidelines.
  • Demonstrating integrity, trustworthiness, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Exhibiting a positive attitude towards members and partners consistently.
  • Gaining proficiency in customer-facing technology to assist members with self-service options.
  • Supporting branches and members with all mortgage lending inquiries.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Exceptional customer service skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in government (FHA/VA/USDA) and conventional loan origination.
  • In-depth knowledge of the real estate market and understanding of Federal and State mortgage regulations.
  • Experience with loan underwriting and secondary market guidelines.
  • Proficient in computer usage, internet navigation, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Eligibility to meet the SAFE Act requirements for MLO registration with NMLS.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree in a business-related field is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
