Job Summary

As an Operations Manager for Transportation at LSG Sky Chefs, your role is to oversee the efficient management of all transportation activities, ensuring seamless execution under customer policies and requirements. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize transportation operations, focusing on productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Manage departmental costs effectively, leveraging data-driven insights to inform budgeting and resource allocation decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to customer specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements, including FDA, HACCP, and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of food and equipment for flights, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Investigate and resolve customer quality issues, developing and implementing corrective actions to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a collaborative and proactive environment.
  • Participate in daily operations briefings to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Manage inventory levels and customer-specific goods, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste.
  • Contribute to the development of annual business plans and budgets, providing data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Optimize the deployment of human, technical, and material resources, driving efficiency and productivity gains.
  • Initiate and lead process improvements, leveraging data and analytics to drive continuous optimization.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Three to five years of supervisory experience in a high-volume, manufacturing, food production, or restaurant environment.
  • Proven experience in using and managing variable production systems and schedules.
  • Strong presentation, communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven success in improving work processes and leading change in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrable record of understanding and meeting customer expectations.
  • Proven track record of understanding the drivers of product and labor cost variances.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
