Fire Protection Sprinkler Technician

FIRE PROTECTION SPRINKLER TECHNICIAN
POSITION SUMMARY
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluates fire sprinkler system functionality through thorough observation, testing, and configuration.
- Disassembles and reassembles sprinkler systems for troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Utilizes hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring devices to service the systems effectively.
- Completes work orders and task lists, ensuring documentation meets customer invoicing standards.
- Documents invoicing details based on labor hours and materials utilized during service delivery.
- Communicates service charges and work details clearly to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Reconciles work order documents, vendor packing slips, and weekly timesheets for supervisor review.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

- Ensure timely submission of Job Safety Analyses, Toolbox Talks, and Audit Forms.
- Report incidents and accidents promptly and accurately.

- Support and promote Stop Work Authority awareness.
- Complete all necessary training requirements, including safety and certifications.
- Submit accurate timesheets, including job numbers, overtime, and travel pay, in a timely manner.
- Ensure all required documentation is complete, accurate, and professional.
- Manage inventory effectively, reviewing and approving packing slips promptly.
- Maintain and care for equipment, including trucks, lifts, and tools.
- Keep job sites organized and clean.
- Monitor production efficiency, communicating proactively with supervisors regarding budget versus actual labor hours.
- Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures, including Purchase Orders and Change Orders.
- Demonstrate punctuality and effective communication with supervisors.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and respond to feedback for improvement.
- Maintain quality control to minimize return trips and warranty work.
- Present a professional appearance at all times.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and customers.
- Foster teamwork through positive interactions within the team and local office.
- Actively participate in required team meetings.
- Be available for overtime, travel, or on-call duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) is required.
- Commitment to ongoing education and maintenance of professional licenses and certifications as required.
- Demonstrated diagnostic skills through prior experience or training.
Experience:
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience, including service on wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
Skills and Competencies:
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation using electronic devices.
- Meet the requirements of the company vehicle driving policy, including a valid Driver's License and good standing motor vehicle record.
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Competently use various gauges, meters, measuring instruments, hand and power tools.
- Effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and customers.
- Possess strong math, verbal, and written skills, along with good interpersonal abilities.
- Basic to moderate computer skills are preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings accurately.
- Follow specific instructions, perform a variety of tasks, and work within precise limits and standards.
Demonstrate the ability to meet customer requirements while maintaining a satisfactory customer satisfaction rating.
