Job OverviewPosition: Fire Protection Construction Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the execution of installation projects by field teams.
  • Coordinate and schedule workforce requirements for various projects.
  • Collaborate with design teams to resolve installation challenges and propose enhancements for future designs.
  • Supervise shop staff and delivery personnel.
  • Assist in project surveying as required for design purposes.
  • Participate in meetings with general contractors regarding project progress.
  • Attend fire marshal acceptance evaluations as necessary.
  • Join weekly construction meetings organized by Allied Fire Protection.
  • Support project managers as needed.
  • Prepare material lists for project modifications as required.
  • Complete punch list items to ensure project closure.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  1. Initiate each meeting with a safety discussion.
  2. Ensure prompt and accurate reporting of incidents and accidents.
  3. Complete Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Toolbox Talks, and Audit Forms in a timely manner.
  4. Conduct monthly job site inspections and observations.
  5. Hold the team accountable for all safety initiatives.
  6. Maintain accountability for safe operation of company vehicles.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally within the department and with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understand and adhere to HR and safety protocols.
  • Training:
  1. Contribute to the development of training requirements.
  2. Commit to ongoing training for all team members.
  • Oversee timesheet management, ensuring accuracy in job numbers, overtime, and travel pay.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is available for job completion, including scope sheets, budgets, and material lists.
  • Manage inventory systems effectively.
  • Optimize material purchasing processes, adhering to standard operating procedures.
  • Maximize production efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all company standard operating procedures.
  • Monitor budget versus actual job costing and engage in departmental meetings for improvement opportunities.
  • Submit work tickets promptly with all required documentation.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to update job statuses.
  1. Review reports and track materials, equipment rentals, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and discuss feedback for improvement.
  • Maintain quality control to minimize the need for return visits and warranty work.
  • Foster teamwork and positive interactions across departments.

Knowledge Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of fire protection and life safety systems, including relevant regulatory standards and codes.
  • Familiarity with fire protection installation requirements.
  • Ability to interpret fire protection blueprints accurately.
  • Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Completion of the American Fire Sprinkler Association training program for fire sprinkler foremen.
  • RME-I license is required or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience as a fire sprinkler foreman.
  • At least 10 years of field experience in fire sprinkler installation.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to follow directives from upper management.
  • Proficient in completing and maintaining all necessary paperwork.
  • Maintain tools and vehicles according to company policy.
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Knowledgeable in NFPA 13 regulations and relevant codes.
  • Professional interaction with other trades, customers, project managers, and officials.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adherence to all company safety practices.
  • Deliver projects on time while ensuring high-quality work and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong leadership skills, including effective communication and decision-making.
  • Organized and efficient work habits with thorough record-keeping skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using Outlook, Word, and Excel.
