Job Summary:

Allied Fire Protection is seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Designer to join our team. As a Fire Alarm Designer, you will be responsible for designing and coordinating fire alarm systems from beginning to end.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site surveys to gather information and assess fire alarm system requirements
  • Prepare detailed fire alarm drawings using AutoCAD, incorporating input from site visits and architectural prints
  • Calculate, design, and coordinate fire alarm systems to ensure compliance with industry codes and regulations
  • Coordinate technical documents with other disciplines and contractors to ensure seamless project execution
  • Develop and implement processes to maintain consistent production and document control
  • Assist superintendents and field personnel in applying system and code knowledge
  • Collaborate with the sales department to review system configurations, specifications, and code applications for estimating projects
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project drawing files and records

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; construction experience a plus
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in fire alarm system design and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NECA
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings
  • Strong customer service skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel as needed

Physical Requirements:

75% office setting, including sitting, some bending, some lifting, walking, and viewing
