Position Overview:

As a vital member of our Manufacturing team, you will leverage your expertise, our advanced systems, and a diverse range of raw materials to contribute to the production of high-quality products that our customers cherish. In this role, you will take responsibility for your designated area while prioritizing the safety of yourself and your teammates throughout the manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with all operational teams within the manufacturing facility.
  • Report directly to the HSE Manager/IL6S HSE pillar lead, providing an opportunity to engage with a proactive team dedicated to enhancing HSE culture, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental initiatives.
  • Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system, assist in incident investigations alongside the HSE Pillar team/safety committee, and drive the implementation of corrective actions to address root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Develop technical guidance programs aimed at identifying and mitigating physical hazards.
  • Offer support and technical advice to the site for effective management of HSE programs.
  • Assist various plant departments in coordinating, tracking, and following up on all HSE training sessions and records in accordance with established skill matrices and requirements.
  • Ensure the maintenance and timely updates of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and manage the receipt and review of any lost, missing, or new sheets as necessary.
  • Engage with government officials as required at municipal, provincial, and federal levels.
  • Under the guidance of the HSE Manager/Pillar Lead, enhance and uphold the HSE Program in alignment with global standards.
  • Ensure that appropriate risk assessments are conducted and followed up in each functional area.
  • Conduct health, safety, security, and environmental training as directed.
  • Promote and lead HSE pillar initiatives through IL6S daily activities, including supporting DMS meetings and Gemba walks.
  • Regularly review all HSE programs for compliance and conformance, making necessary improvements in collaboration with the HSE Manager/Lead.
  • Participate in the annual Master Planning for the plant and Regional HSE pillar concerning HSE, along with regular updates on progress and tracking.
  • Implement required site and corporate HSE programs as directed.
  • Act as a qualified and certified member of the HSE Pillar/safety committee.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety and environmental legislation and codes.
  • Understanding of ISO certification requirements and the programs necessary to achieve and maintain certification.
  • Expertise in sustainability and environmental practices.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in computer software, particularly MS Office.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to foster partnerships, make informed decisions, and promote teamwork.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree (4 Yr.) in Health, Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
