As a Travel Nurse, your duties include delivering essential medical services to patients in an outpatient addiction recovery setting; upholding professional nursing standards and ensuring the safe administration of medications in line with facility protocols; and maintaining accurate documentation of patient records and medical files in compliance with State and Federal regulations.

Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Practical Nurse by the Commonwealth or possesses multistate practice privileges.
- Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
- Familiarity with regulations and standards, including infection control, quality assurance, and patient care compliance for state licensure.
- Current CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification and BLS (Basic Life Support) training.
- Experience in triaging emergency situations and assisting with medical crises.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of experience in chemical addiction and/or mental health disorders, including psychopharmacotherapy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educate patients about medications used in treatment and their potential side effects.
- Administer and dispense medications (e.g., Methadone, Suboxone) in accordance with State and Federal guidelines and DEA best practices.
- Conduct urine drug screenings as necessary.
- Perform assessments for new intakes, quarterly evaluations, annual reviews, and potential impairments.
- Ensure accurate documentation of medication administration and dispensing transactions.
- Follow the treatment plan established by the physician or medical director.
- Administer, interpret, and document Mantoux tests for patients and staff.
- Evaluate patient responses to treatment and medication dosages/interactions to determine appropriateness.
- Respond effectively to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances, providing care within the scope of your license.
- Counsel patients on personal hygiene, abnormal lab results, HIV/AIDS testing, and other medical issues, including treatment changes.
- Document nursing progress notes for all patients and maintain comprehensive medical records, including individual patient files, daily medication logs, dosage records, and physician orders.
- Participate in case conferences, providing professional insights.
- Order medical supplies and maintain accurate inventory records as per regulations.
- Schedule patient appointments with physicians; obtain lab work and remind patients of their appointments.
- Conduct medication callbacks for patients receiving take-home medications.
- Communicate significant changes in patients or observed behavioral patterns affecting treatment to physicians and the team.
- Facilitate referrals for specialized care at local health centers and follow up on clients' attendance and treatment.
- Assist in coordinating patient transfers to and from the program; verify medication with nursing staff from other programs.
- Understand how to recognize and manage an opiate overdose.
- Comprehend the clinical benefits and limitations of urine screens, toxicology, and other testing methods.
- Attend team meetings and complete all required training courses promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
