We are seeking a dedicated Receivables Operations Leader to join our dynamic finance team at our Corporate Office. This pivotal role is essential for the effective management of our accounts receivable processes, ensuring the financial integrity of our organization through the timely collection of outstanding debts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Accounts Receivable Monitoring: Regularly assess accounts receivable aging reports to keep track of outstanding invoices and identify overdue accounts.
  2. Collection Strategy Development: Formulate and execute efficient collection strategies aimed at reducing overdue accounts and enhancing cash flow. This includes engaging with customers regarding overdue payments, negotiating payment plans, and resolving billing discrepancies.
  3. Payment Application: Guarantee the accurate and prompt posting of customer payments to their respective accounts within the accounting system. Reconcile received payments with outstanding invoices to ensure precise record-keeping.
  4. Customer Engagement: Maintain ongoing communication with customers concerning their account status, payment terms, and any arising issues. Deliver exceptional customer service and address inquiries or concerns promptly.
  5. Reporting and Insights: Generate and analyze accounts receivable reports, including aging summaries and collection metrics. Provide valuable insights and recommendations to management based on the analysis of receivables data.
  6. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance accounts receivable processes, improve operational efficiency, and decrease delinquency rates. Implement best practices and automation tools to elevate the effectiveness of the accounts receivable function.
  7. Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements concerning accounts receivable. Mitigate risks associated with bad debt through effective credit control measures and monitoring of debtor exposure.
  8. Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work alongside other departments, such as sales and customer service, to resolve customer issues and enhance overall business processes related to accounts receivable.
  9. Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their unique needs to facilitate timely payments and nurture long-term partnerships.

Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years in accounts receivable management or a comparable role.
  3. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with construction and lien regulations is preferred.
  4. Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  5. Credit Management: Experience with credit risk assessment and collections strategies is advantageous.
  6. Certifications: Certification in credit management or accounts receivable (e.g., CMA, CCE) is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to perform standard office activities, including prolonged periods of sitting, computer work, and filing tasks.
  • Regular communication and fine motor skills are essential.
  • Exposure to a typical office environment with moderate noise levels.
