We are seeking a Payroll Manager who will be instrumental in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our organization. This role is crucial for guaranteeing that our employees receive accurate and timely compensation. The selected candidate will oversee payroll operations, ensuring that payroll expenses and taxes are processed correctly and punctually. Collaboration with various departments and supervising our dedicated payroll team will be essential components of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate regional payroll alignment and integration by understanding local payroll practices across multiple states.
  • Oversee the payroll team, ensuring efficient weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing while aligning with the objectives set by the Human Resources leadership.
  • Support the interpretation and execution of payroll policies and calculations to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead initiatives to review, design, and document payroll processes for enhanced efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll functions.
  • Act as a liaison between the Payroll and Finance departments.
  • Manage relationships with payroll and benefits vendors to ensure service level agreements are met.
  • Generate, review, and distribute payroll reports to support financial audits and compliance assessments.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of payroll reports for accuracy, making necessary adjustments as required.
  • Prepare payroll reports for various ad-hoc needs and ensure proper general ledger entries.
  • Oversee the payroll process to guarantee timely payments to all employees in accordance with tax regulations.
  • Utilize payroll reports to promote best practices within the team, aiming for maximum efficiency and consistency.
  • Perform weekly payroll audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with payroll audits related to salary and minimum wage compliance.
  • Calculate payroll liabilities, including federal and state income taxes and employer contributions.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies to maintain balanced payroll accounts.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on prevailing wage regulations.
  • Provide payroll-related information by addressing inquiries and requests.
  • Enhance professional knowledge by attending workshops and engaging with professional networks.
  • Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results.
  • Participate in special payroll projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulations across multiple states.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now system is essential.
  • Previous experience with prevailing wage and certified payroll is preferred.
  • Experience in the construction industry is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated supervisory or management experience is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management skills.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Ability to perform standard office activities, including prolonged sitting, computer work, and filing tasks.
  • Regular communication required, with fine hand manipulation skills necessary.
  • Exposure to typical office conditions with moderate noise levels.
