Role Responsibilities:

As the Manager of Pharmacy Operations, you will:

  • Oversee staff, operational processes, systems, and resources to achieve optimal outcomes and high employee satisfaction.
  • Regularly assess pharmacy workflows to foster a safe and efficient environment.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Provide leadership for the daily operations of the Pharmacy, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective pharmacy services.
  • Manage IV admixture services, ensuring all operational and regulatory standards are upheld.
  • Develop and revise policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Continuously monitor workflows and devise strategies for ongoing improvement.
  • Maintain workplace safety protocols.
  • Organize and supervise the operational functions of the department for efficient and safe workflows.
  • Oversee drug diversion prevention and monitoring activities, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Be accountable for the safe and efficient operations of IV admixture services in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Fulfill all responsibilities of the designated person for sterile and non-sterile compounding as per regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage pharmacy automation, including monitoring, reporting, and process enhancement.
  • Design and implement departmental performance improvement initiatives focused on safety, best practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide corrective actions for performance improvement and medication management incidents, documenting all actions taken.
  • Manage departmental scheduling to ensure optimal staffing levels for workflow requirements.
  • Oversee drug procurement, storage, inventory management, and dispensing processes.
  • Participate in departmental, hospital, and health system committees, offering recommendations as needed.
  • Coordinate and oversee orientation, ongoing training, education programs, and evaluation processes for pharmacy personnel.
  • Evaluate, monitor, and implement safe medication processes and optimal medication management practices.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies regarding medication management processes.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and perform basic staff duties to provide coverage when necessary.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:

To be considered for the Manager of Pharmacy Operations position, you should possess:

  • Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
  • Background in hospital pharmacy operations, including leadership in projects and initiatives.
  • Experience in sterile IV compounding.
  • Managerial or supervisory experience.
  • A Doctorate Degree in pharmacy or a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a Doctorate Degree.
  • A valid PA Pharmacist License.
