The Manager ensures that the department adheres to organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership for the daily operations of the Pharmacy, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective pharmaceutical services.
- Manage IV admixture services, ensuring compliance with all operational and regulatory standards.
- Develop and revise policies and procedures to align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Continuously monitor workflow and implement strategies for ongoing improvement.
- Ensure workplace safety is maintained at all times.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and organize departmental operations to maintain efficient and safe workflows.
- Oversee drug diversion prevention and monitoring, ensuring compliance with established policies.
- Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of IV admixture services.
- Manage pharmacy automation processes, focusing on monitoring, reporting, and improvement.
- Design and execute performance improvement initiatives related to safety and compliance.
- Provide corrective actions for performance issues and document all actions taken.
- Manage staffing schedules to meet workflow demands effectively.
- Oversee drug procurement, storage, inventory management, and dispensing protocols.
- Participate in committees and task forces, contributing valuable insights and recommendations.
- Coordinate training and educational programs for pharmacy staff.
- Evaluate and implement best practices for medication management.
- Maintain knowledge of basic staff duties to provide coverage as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy or a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
Experience:
- Experience in hospital pharmacy settings.
- Proven track record in managing pharmacy operations and leading initiatives.
- Experience in sterile IV compounding.
- Prior managerial or supervisory experience in a pharmacy environment.
Certification: Valid PA Pharmacist License is required.
