Primary Function:


This role is responsible for overseeing the monthly financial closing activities for the designated division, which includes the preparation and examination of journal entries, annual and monthly audits, reconciliations, and analytical reporting.

The Senior Accounting Manager must guarantee that all accounting transactions adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

This position will provide support and documentation for both internal and external audit inquiries; assist in implementing process enhancements and accounting modifications; and deliver ongoing assistance to various business units.

The ideal candidate should thrive in a dynamic environment and challenge the organization with innovative ideas and a fresh outlook. This position will also involve supporting the controller with various project assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate in the accurate and timely execution of the monthly and annual financial reporting process.

Complete assigned financial closing tasks on a monthly and annual basis, including the preparation, review, and posting of journal entries, as well as the submission of financial data.

Analyze monthly results, investigate account discrepancies, and manage tracking, reporting, and forecasting responsibilities.
Maintain and reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
Accountable for ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while maintaining and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
Research and resolve any reconciling items on a monthly basis.
Assist, support, and provide documentation for internal and external audit processes.
Engage in the execution and enhancement of accounting processes.
Support the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls, procedures, and remediation plans.
Ensure that all processes are properly documented and assist in the ongoing documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
Identify opportunities for productivity improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Act as a resource for training other team members; provide backup support as necessary.
Deliver customer service by investigating variances, detailing departmental charges, and advising on financial procedures.
Assist with any transitions related to accounting systems.
Uphold the integrity of financial systems with high ethical standards and compliance with company policies.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required, with a comprehensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
A minimum of five years of professional accounting experience is essential.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary; the candidate must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
A proven history of leading and managing projects, meeting deadlines, and collaborating as part of a team is required.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.
Experience with internal controls is mandatory.
Proficiency in accounting software is required; experience with Great Plains is preferred.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, are essential (no exceptions).
Demonstrated experience in process improvement is necessary.
Attention to detail and accuracy is crucial.
Strong planning and organizational skills are required.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential.
A high-energy, self-motivated individual is preferred.
The ability to manage stressful situations in a fast-paced environment is important.
