POSITION SUMMARY

The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and management of various engineering projects, ensuring compliance with all performance metrics such as timelines, budget, quality, and realization of anticipated benefits. This role involves gathering project specifications, developing project plans, validating cost estimates, and overseeing the comprehensive execution of the project. The Project Manager collaborates with multiple teams, departments, and clients to maintain the project's critical path.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Gathers, evaluates, and comprehends project specifications.
  • Creates and updates project plans, documenting project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, timelines, schedules, resource allocation, and project dashboards.
  • Communicates project status, requirements, and structure across the Project Management team and relevant departments.
  • Identifies potential challenges and proposes alternatives considering cost implications, time constraints, and quality standards.
  • Monitors the activities of project teams comprising engineers and technicians.
  • Assesses the project's financial structure and addresses any significant discrepancies from the approved budget.
  • Collaborates with manufacturing, sales/marketing, and procurement teams during project definition, feasibility studies, and approval processes.
  • Oversees daily project progress, including risk assessment and resolution of issues.
  • Conducts project evaluations in accordance with established processes.
  • Acts as the primary contact for ongoing projects for internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
  • Participates in project planning meetings as necessary; serves as a subject matter expert regarding workflows, processes, capacities, and timelines.
  • Assists in implementing workflow management and reporting tools aimed at enhancing quality, profitability, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Engages in cross-functional teams to develop or refine processes, policies, and workflows to boost efficiency, accuracy, speed, and quality.
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of team members to ensure objectives are met. Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops the team.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Project Management, Business Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master's) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PMP certification is preferred.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from inception to completion), and planning skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning.
  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to influence peers and senior management.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and see.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
