The School for International Training is seeking a Launch Assistant to facilitate the preparation and execution of the IHP Human Rights program. This role involves providing field-based assistance to the Launch Coordinator during the program's approximately 10-day launch phase. The IHP Human Rights program initiates in New York City and aims to equip college students for a semester-long study abroad experience that examines global climate change challenges. The Launch Assistant position is a temporary role that requires exceptional interpersonal abilities, strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the capacity to foster positive relationships with college students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Launch Coordinator and Program Director, including managing reservations, purchasing supplies, assisting students, organizing educational resources, and coordinating transportation.

1. Program Preparation and Implementation

  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of program materials to students and staff.
  • Engage in workshops, lectures, and site visits as needed, providing logistical support such as driving, organizing group transport, maintaining educational spaces, and setting up classrooms.

2. Administrative and Logistical Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Launch Coordinator on vendor relationships, logistics, and meal arrangements for all aspects of the program launch.
  • Supply relevant program information to the Program Team for travel and logistics management.

3. Daily Program Management Support

  • Work collaboratively with the Program Team, including the Program Director, Program Manager, Visiting Faculty, and Launch Coordinator, to ensure the delivery of a high-quality educational experience for students.
  • Assist college students in their educational pursuits during the launch phase.
  • Ensure that the IHP team and students are informed about daily schedules and prepared for activities and lectures.

4. Additional Duties as Assigned

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with experiential education and youth empowerment methodologies.
  • Experience in international programs, event management, or youth programming.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and comfortable with cloud-based document management and online project management tools.
  • Collaborative work style with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines independently.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
  • Experience working with remote teams is preferred.

Compensation: Salary is based on the term of employment and commensurate with experience and academic qualifications.
