**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our team at the Center for Reproductive Rights. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide strategic legal advice and support to our global operations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Legal Expertise: Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of global legal issues, including corporate law, employment law, and compliance.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with our leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve our organizational goals.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, identifying and mitigating potential risks to the organization.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of legal professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • External Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including law firms, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school: or foreign-trained lawyer with an LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 15+ years of legal practice: including time spent in law firm or in-house legal roles.
  • Strong understanding of not-for-profit law: including experience with INGOs, either in full-time legal role, as outside counsel, or in a board capacity.
  • Global experience: preferably working at a global organization and/or on a global basis.
  • Grants compliance: experience with restricted grants and compliance with complex donor requirements.
  • Management skills: experience leading and mentoring direct reports to maximize performance and team cohesion.
