World Learning is seeking a Launch Assistant to facilitate the planning and execution of the IHP Human Rights program. This role involves providing field-based support to the Launch Coordinator during the program's approximately 10-day initiation phase. The IHP Human Rights program is designed to prepare college students for an immersive study abroad experience focused on global climate change challenges.

The Launch Assistant position is a temporary role that demands strong interpersonal abilities, exceptional organizational skills, adaptability, and the capacity to foster positive relationships with college students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and logistical assistance to the Launch Coordinator and Program Director, including managing reservations, procuring supplies, supporting students, organizing educational resources, and coordinating group transportation.

1. Program Preparation and Implementation:

  • Assist in the creation and distribution of program materials for students and staff.
  • Participate actively in workshops, lectures, and site visits, offering logistical support such as transportation coordination, maintaining educational spaces, and preparing classrooms.

2. Administrative and Logistical Coordination:

  • Collaborate with the Launch Coordinator on vendor relations, logistics, and meal arrangements for all aspects of the program launch.
  • Provide relevant program information to the Program Team for travel and logistics management.

3. Daily Program Management Support:

  • Work collaboratively with the Program Team, including the Program Director, Program Manager, Visiting Faculty, and Launch Coordinator, to ensure the delivery of a high-quality educational experience for students.
  • Assist college students in their educational pursuits during the launch phase.
  • Ensure that the IHP team and students are well-informed about daily schedules and prepared for activities and lectures.

4. Additional Duties:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with experiential education and youth empowerment methodologies.
  • Experience in international programs, event management, or youth programming.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and comfortable with cloud-based document management and online project management tools.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to manage tasks and deadlines independently.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.
  • Experience working with remote teams is a plus.
