Program Coordinator - UWM Patient Scheduler

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Program Coordinator to join our team at the University of Washington Medical Center - Montlake. As a Program Coordinator - UWM Patient Scheduler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our patient scheduling process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and prioritize incoming referrals from multiple sources, utilizing your knowledge of each physician's specialized skill set.
  • Triage incoming referrals to ensure the appropriate specialist will be reviewing referrals.
  • Handle intake of each referral request, ensuring complete information is received and entered into the electronic medical record system in a timely manner.
  • Schedule initial patient appointments either in person or via Telemedicine based on provider and patient preference.
  • Coordinate appointments for the patient at the appropriate facility and assist with urgent insurance authorization or financial assistance.
  • Manage and resolve a high volume of phone inquiries and messages.
  • Review appointment follow-up requirements and expectations with patients, educating them to ensure adequate understanding of the purpose of each appointment and follow-up recommendations.
  • Offer financial assistance to self-pay and underinsured patients, providing them with the necessary steps to apply for financial counseling.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent and two years of experience in the program specialty.
  • Three years of Patient Support Service experience, or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
