Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Program Coordinator to lead our programming activities with youth for 15 hours per week. The Coordinator will be responsible for delivering curriculum-based activities and discussions aimed at enhancing knowledge, boosting self-esteem, and fostering communication and other social skills. Girls Inc. aims to engage facilitators with youth work experience who can authentically connect with diverse girls and communities. We provide targeted training and encourage participation in all Girls Inc. events to foster supportive relationships within a vibrant community of women. This role is focused on in-person program delivery across various locations.

Key Responsibilities

Planning

  • Prepare for each session by reviewing the curriculum and gathering necessary materials.
  • Manage enrollment forms, track attendance, and maintain participant data.

Facilitation

  • Conduct in-person after-school sessions at multiple school sites using provided technology and materials.
  • Occasionally facilitate monthly learning sessions, workshops, and additional activities across all program areas.
  • Co-host workshops with external partners and organizations.
  • Encourage group discussions in a manner that promotes participation from all youth.
  • Deliver engaging, interactive sessions to maximize learning outcomes.
  • Adapt programming and facilitation styles as needed based on group dynamics and youth needs.

Outreach & Enrollment

  • Promote programs, attend events, and assist with participant recruitment and retention while building empowering relationships with youth and their families.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in group facilitation or instruction with underserved youth.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with youth.
  • Experience delivering culturally relevant programming and a willingness to learn about diverse cultures.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, along with flexibility and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with proprietary curriculum training and lesson implementation.
  • Capability to travel to program sites using reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Zoom, and general technological skills.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain active for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education or relevant experience in gender-specific programming.
  • Experience working with transgender, non-binary, and gender-expansive youth.
  • Bilingual or bicultural candidates are highly desired.
  • Familiarity with local community resources.
  • Experience with or shared lived experiences with the youth we serve.

Schedule

  • Facilitation involves 10-15 hours per week, typically across 2-3 groups.
  • Planning time includes preparation for meetings with supervisors or staff.
  • Exact scheduling will depend on school site assignments, with typical after-school hours being M-TH from 1 PM to 6 PM.
  • Friday and Saturday events may be scheduled in advance.
