Position Overview:

As a key member of the Project Controls team, this role is pivotal in supporting the execution of various projects within the Mass Transit sector. Under the guidance of the Project Controls Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring project success through effective monitoring and coordination.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing budgets, timelines, and quality assessments for specific projects.
  • Track project implementation to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate reports and address challenges.
  • Comprehend resource-loaded schedules and monitor progress against established milestones.
  • Support the complete financial cycle, including vendor orders, client proposals, change orders, and invoicing, while working closely with project managers for necessary approvals.
  • Generate requisitions for designated projects.
  • Help prepare and maintain financial reports and logs to monitor project budgets.
  • Compile monthly reports and consolidate data for analysis.
  • Assist in creating presentations and detailed reports.
  • Ensure bid documents are ready for distribution.
  • Support senior management in tracking project milestones and aligning with organizational goals.
  • Maintain project documentation and correspondence in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize Project Management Information Software (PMIS) to update and manage project data.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of four years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a combination of five years of experience and training may substitute for a degree.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in an engineering consulting firm, contractor, or public agency is highly desirable.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, including customer focus, innovation, strategic thinking, and teamwork.
  • Understanding of project planning, development, design, and construction management principles.
  • Familiarity with grant funding and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability in scope control and change management.
  • Capacity to conduct field visits for compliance verification.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on unity and equity.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a track record of implementing complex plans.
  • Ability to foster relationships that lead to project success.
  • Capability to engage with diverse audiences effectively.
  • Experience in leading teams or contributing as a team member, regardless of position.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local construction codes is preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in project management software.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with contractors and consultants.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily office-based, with potential site visits required. Candidates should be prepared for prolonged periods of sitting or standing and performing repetitive tasks.
