Compensation: $53/hr. on W2

Essential Qualifications:

  • Preference for candidates with extensive tenure in previous roles (minimum of 1 year)
Role Overview:

The Senior IT Systems Analyst plays a crucial role in assisting client departments in fulfilling their goals by acting as a liaison across various functional domains and business sectors in the evaluation of business and user requirements, alongside the implementation of technological solutions. This position is responsible for steering the integration of multi-year initiatives characterized by high levels of risk, complexity, budget considerations, and significant business impact. The Senior IT Systems Analyst provides strategic consultation to define and meet objectives, identify potential risks, and execute technology solutions. Responsibilities include conducting feasibility assessments, preparing user stories and business requirements, and drafting system and programming specifications to facilitate the design of viable technology solutions. Additionally, this role contributes to cost estimations and project planning, supports user acceptance testing, documentation, and production assistance. The Senior IT Systems Analyst possesses comprehensive knowledge of the operational aspects of assigned business areas and the IT systems/applications utilized. Participation in an agile development team may be required. This role is assigned to complex projects, systems, or initiatives, leading efforts, overseeing outcomes, providing training, and mentoring other IT Systems Analysts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze business requirements to ascertain technical specifications, identify affected areas/systems/processes, and evaluate alternative solutions.
  • Design, develop, document, test, or assist in the modification of software programs and/or systems.
  • Research and assist in designing solutions for general maintenance requests to address system issues.
  • Prepare detailed system requirements and aid in functional design solutions for new products/features and enhancements to existing products/features.
  • Oversee and finalize design specifications.
  • Proactively seek areas for improvement.
  • Engage in highly complex projects, systems, or initiatives.
  • Provide insights into forecasting and project planning for scope/requirements documents and/or vendor contracts to mitigate risks associated with timely and cost-effective solution delivery.
  • Lead a systematic approach for capturing requirements.
  • Collaborate with partners to document requirements in a standardized format suitable for developing technical documentation.
  • Utilize SDLC processes and associated tools to analyze current systems targeted for enhancement/replacement to determine business and technical functions to be included in design.
  • Prepare crosswalks for transforming input data to output with the application of rules.
  • Work with Developers and other IT personnel to identify system components and the functional flow of components and data.
  • Validate design documentation with relevant stakeholders and secure approvals.
  • Review final design documents to ensure clarity in work expectations.
  • Clarify design expectations, address business and technical inquiries, and research to involve appropriate parties in resolving complex issues.
  • Continuously evaluate systems as business directions evolve to assess impacts on existing designs and determine optimal solutions.
  • Provide consultative support for systems within their product family.
  • Collaborate with developers and IT staff to ensure designs meet business and technical requirements.
  • Manage relationships with assigned vendors.
  • Prepare technical documentation and deliverables, including flowcharts, models, procedures, user guides, scorecards, and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with practices, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop test scenarios and cases, execute tests for various system components.
  • Prepare comprehensive test strategies to ensure thorough coverage of system components and interfaces; provide subject matter expertise and recommend testing strategies for junior analysts.
  • Develop and document contingency plans for potential risks or obstacles.
  • Foster consensus and relationship building between Business, IT teams, and Business Relationship Managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and MS Visio.
Preferred Qualifications:

The following qualifications are desirable:
  • Ability to write SQL queries ranging from simple to complex.
  • Experience in application development, testing, and/or business/systems analysis roles.
  • Experience across various domains, including Healthcare and Finance.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
  • Specific tools, languages, and specialized skills may vary.
Required Experience:

5-8 years of experience in application development and/or systems analysis roles.

Required Education:

Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience.
