Position Summary:
The Senior Business Analyst will play a crucial role in developing comprehensive business requirements documentation for various reporting and systems development initiatives. This position involves gathering business requirements from stakeholders, crafting detailed requirements documents, and overseeing project management activities. The analyst will also support user acceptance testing, provide user assistance, and conduct systems training for departmental personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify ethical conduct and fulfill job responsibilities in alignment with Citizens' core values and information protection policies.
  • Engage with stakeholders and project teams on significant projects to ascertain business needs, evaluate opportunities based on potential business value, and define the scope of work.
  • Facilitate collaboration sessions with both business and technical stakeholders to articulate requirements, ensuring adherence to corporate standards, and create necessary documentation such as flow diagrams and user stories.
  • Address production support issues by conducting initial assessments, providing end-user support, and documenting workarounds while escalating issues to IT as needed.
  • Assist in the creation of test plans and strategies, coordinate testing activities, and execute test cases for changes to business systems.
  • Evaluate investment opportunities and develop assessment plans to analyze post-implementation results, providing reports and recommendations for improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of materials that support change management for end users, including policies, procedures, training materials, and communications.
  • May mentor or guide less-experienced staff and contribute to performance management and policy development processes.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of system development methodologies, particularly Agile and Waterfall.
  • Proficient understanding of information technology and system development.
  • Strong capability to manage configurable business systems, including business rules and workflow.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word, and Visio.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with a history of facilitating cross-functional teams.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to set realistic goals and objectives while working independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including effective communication and presentation abilities.
  • Analytical skills to organize information and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Capability to analyze business performance and identify improvement opportunities using data analytics.
  • Proficiency in creating database queries for data retrieval.

Experience:
Minimum of 6 years in business analysis or systems analysis, with at least 3 years in financial services or a related field.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a business analyst in the property and casualty insurance sector.
• Familiarity with Citizens' systems and web-based application development.
