Position Overview:

Engineering Technician (ADV0008VT)

Aerodyne Industries is a progressive and expanding engineering and IT services firm located on Florida's Space Coast. The COMET contract encompasses the management and execution of ground systems capabilities, processing of flight hardware, and launch operations. These efforts are crucial for various programs, including the International Space Station and the Space Launch System.

The selected individual will engage in the daily operations of the Ground Support Technical Operations (GSTO) team, supporting NASA's Artemis program. Responsibilities include assisting with Launch Vehicle Processing, Testing, and Validation of both flight and ground systems.

As an Operational Technician, you will support the Processing, Testing, and Validation of Artemis flight hardware and related ground systems. Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings and adhering to strict safety protocols. Candidates must pass a SCAPE Physical and maintain a security clearance, with the ability to work shifts, weekends, and reasonable overtime as needed.



Qualifications:

External Requirements

This position is available at multiple levels. Depending on experience and business needs, candidates may be considered for various levels of this role.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with one year of relevant experience or equivalent technical training.

A background in mechanical and/or electrical fields, particularly in aviation or aerospace, is highly desirable.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to follow work instructions, interpret engineering drawings, and comply with stringent safety protocols.

Strong communication skills are essential.

Experience with Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.

Applicants must pass a SCAPE Physical and maintain a security clearance.

Availability for shift work, weekends, and reasonable overtime is necessary.

Physical Requirements:

- Duties may involve handling hazardous materials and waste (if qualified).

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to distinguish colors (e.g., blue and green wires).

- Compliance with safety policies is mandatory.

- Must be capable of climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.

- Physical exertion may be required in various tasks.

Work Environment:

- All tasks must be performed safely in accordance with company and NASA standards.

- Work is primarily indoors, but may include outdoor fieldwork depending on project requirements.

- Working at heights and in confined spaces may be necessary.

Equipment Operation:

- Operate and maintain material handling equipment such as forklifts and other specific machinery.

- Utilize computer systems for maintaining logs, records, and documentation.

Attendance:

- Standard work assignments are typically 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week.

- Dependability and punctuality are essential.

- Occasional overtime may be required with short notice to meet project deadlines.

Additional Requirements:

- US Citizenship is required.

- Ability to obtain necessary certifications for operating material handling equipment.

- Effective interaction with colleagues and supervisors is crucial.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.

- Future government security clearance may be required.

- Compliance with all drug-free workplace policies is mandatory.

- Must possess a valid Florida Class D motor vehicle license.
