Role Purpose:

The position involves advanced Electrical System Engineering, focusing on the development and execution of complex tasks related to facility power distribution systems (up to 13.8 KV). The selected candidate will oversee mission support planning, equipment operations, maintenance, electrical project planning, and facility power system design. The role requires minimal supervision and entails managing Low Voltage power distribution systems while possessing knowledge of Medium Voltage systems.

Key Responsibilities:

System Specific:

  1. Expertise in electrical system protective relaying, motor controls, switchgear design, power transformers, emergency generators, photovoltaic systems, UPS/battery systems, VFDs, lightning protection, grounding, and bonding.
  2. Strong design and operational knowledge of Medium and Low Voltage facility power distribution systems.
  3. Conduct troubleshooting and design development for facility electrical distribution systems with minimal oversight.
  4. Collaborate with junior engineers and technicians to ensure adherence to engineering processes and industry standards.
  5. Implement safety practices for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with relevant safety standards.
  6. Interpret and provide guidance on power system drawings and arc flash analysis documents.

Maintenance:

  1. Update asset information in the maintenance database following established procedures.
  2. Develop and manage preventive maintenance plans for assigned equipment.
  3. Investigate system issues, propose solutions, and support technicians in troubleshooting.
  4. Prepare technical reports detailing anomalies and resolutions for review.

Integrated Operations Support:

  1. Coordinate mission activities to align with customer launch schedules.
  2. Participate in console operations during tests and launches as required.

Readiness:

  1. Engage in System Health and Readiness Program teams.
  2. Conduct readiness assessments of systems and equipment.

Project Support:

  1. Work with stakeholders to define system specifications and requirements.
  2. Facilitate communication between customers and engineering teams throughout project phases.
  3. Assist in the development of technical proposals and documentation.

Other Responsibilities:

  1. Provide guidance on equipment specifications and documentation standards.
  2. Conduct site visits and propose engineering solutions to identified problems.
  3. Evaluate systems for necessary upgrades to meet new codes or enhance operations.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with over 8 years of relevant experience.
  2. Strong analytical and communication skills.
  3. Proficient in computer systems and software applications relevant to the role.
  4. Ability to lead design efforts and resolve technical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Willingness to travel as required.
  2. Ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances.

Work Environment:

This role is primarily office-based with occasional fieldwork. The position requires mental alertness, planning skills, and the ability to work under deadlines. Safety and quality are paramount, and all employees are expected to adhere to established protocols.
