Spitzer Industries, a leader in the design and manufacturing of high-quality equipment, is currently in search of a Material Handling Specialist to enhance our operations.
Daily Responsibilities of the Material Handling Specialist
The individual in this role will be tasked with the following key responsibilities:
- Receive training and certification for the operation of material handling equipment.
- Safely manage the loading, unloading, and movement of materials within the yard.
- Execute assigned tasks in the warehouse and yard in accordance with company protocols and under the guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Ensure that all equipment is stored properly, maintained, and ready for use.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and complete necessary health and safety checklists.
- Transport inventory and materials to designated work areas, pickup points, and storage locations.
- Maintain an organized and clean environment for materials stored in the yard.
- Organize and stage large bulk items efficiently.
- Dispose of outside waste daily.
- Immediately report any damages to equipment or materials to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations as established by the company.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Material Handling Specialist position at Spitzer Industries should possess the following:
- Experience operating Hyster models 155, 360, 450, 550 or similar equipment.
- Proficiency in rigging practices.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Familiarity with warehouse receiving procedures and company policies.
