Overview:

The Recovery Support Specialist plays a crucial role in guiding individuals towards their recovery journey by offering mentorship, coaching, and valuable insights. This position is dedicated to fostering a supportive environment where each person's perspective and preferences are acknowledged, valued, and integrated into their treatment and rehabilitation processes. As a Recovery Support Specialist, you will advocate for clients while facilitating structured support services for adults aged 18 and above with mental health and substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver services grounded in the principles of wellness, recovery, and personal empowerment, focusing on the development of essential life skills for housing, employment, and community integration.
  • Assist clients in making informed decisions and enhancing their self-determination.
  • Provide training in practical skills such as medication management, financial literacy, and daily living activities.
  • Exemplify recovery-oriented values and behaviors to inspire hope and resilience in clients.
  • Empower clients to advocate for themselves and understand their rights.
  • Support clients in creating and utilizing crisis plans and advanced directives while offering relapse prevention strategies.
  • Help clients maintain stable housing and improve their living situations through skill enhancement.
  • Guide clients in exploring educational and vocational training opportunities.
  • Develop and execute a personalized Mental Health Wellness Recovery Action Plan.
  • Connect clients with community resources and provide comprehensive case management services.
  • Utilize personal recovery experiences to foster optimism and motivation among clients.
  • Engage effectively with clients to contribute positively to their rehabilitation process while maintaining a flexible and individualized approach.
  • Promote a culture of recovery and empowerment within the organization and uphold program integrity.
  • Report to the Qualified Professional regarding all matters related to program goals and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation requirements in accordance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate clinical documentation.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Be available for on-call support to clients and their support networks as needed.
  • Represent Southeastern Integrated Care LLC positively and uphold its mission at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation standards and maintain accurate records of services provided.
  • Engage in ongoing training and self-assessment to identify professional development needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support quality service delivery and respond to team needs.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are required:

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.

Required Skills:

  • Availability to collaborate with clients at least five days a week.
  • Ability to document service delivery accurately in accordance with established standards.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting medical records.
  • Strong writing skills for creating comprehensive service notes.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with clients and the public.

Certifications:

  • North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Current certification in Peer Support must be maintained.

Work Environment:

This role primarily involves working in clients' living environments and the community, which may present various conditions typical of domestic settings.

Physical Requirements:
