Key Responsibilities:- Transportation Operations: Ensure the safe and orderly transportation of passengers, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, fueling, and maintaining cleanliness of vehicles.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate trip records, including time at each stop, number of passengers per trip, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs.
- Passenger Assistance: Assist passengers as required, providing a high level of customer service and ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Communication: Utilize radio communications to coordinate with dispatch and other team members, ensuring seamless transportation operations.
- Qualifications: Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license, 21 years of age or older, and able to pass a physical exam, including a pre-employment drug test.
- Training and Certification: Complete comprehensive driver training program, obtain a CDL (commercial driver license) if necessary, and certify in special needs assistance training, defensive driver training, CPR, and first aid.
- Personal Qualities: Demonstrate a clean driving record, be courteous, dependable, and able to relate to people of all ages, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Communication Skills: Possess the ability to read, write, and do basic math to understand operational procedures and complete required reports accurately.
As a Transportation Specialist, you will be working in a fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility and adaptability. You will be responsible for operating a vehicle and lifting up to 50 pounds. A high level of physical fitness and stamina is required to perform the duties of this role.
