Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Flexographic Printing Specialist is responsible for setting up and operating flexographic printing presses to produce high-quality prints on various flexible materials. This role involves a range of tasks aimed at ensuring optimal production efficiency and print quality.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in operating a Mark Andy 830 Press.
  • Hands-on experience with digital printing technology and a solid background in the printing sector.
  • Self-motivated, capable of multitasking, and a strong team collaborator.
  • Educational background in Fine Arts or Graphics is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of substrates and flexible working hours, including potential overtime.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Windows-based applications is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8-12 hours) and work 5-6 days a week.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
  • Strong focus on safety and quality in a fast-paced setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of flexographic printing processes, materials, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting job specifications and understanding press capabilities.
  • Consistent attendance and a reliable work history.
  • Basic math and measurement skills are required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Visual acuity for color differentiation is essential.
  • High school diploma or GED, with one to three years of relevant experience.
  • Strong language skills for understanding safety rules and operational instructions.
  • Mathematical proficiency for various calculations.
  • Ability to apply common sense in executing instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and determine the appropriate press settings and materials for each job.
  • Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment.
  • Utilize precision tools to correctly mount and align printing plates.
  • Minimize waste by making informed decisions regarding press operation and quality control.
  • Adjust machine speed according to production requirements.
  • Incorporate safety practices into daily operations and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Review job orders to identify printing specifications and quantities.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in the setup and operation of the press to achieve high-quality prints.
  • Conduct quality checks and maintain accurate production records.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the press area.
  • Mix inks to achieve desired colors and perform color matching as needed.
  • Train and support other personnel in operational procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures throughout the printing process.
