The Regional Human Resources Manager plays a pivotal role at our Des Plaines Distribution center, overseeing the implementation and execution of the HR strategy across multiple locations. This position is accountable for the Des Plaines facility and extends to sites in Washington, Colorado, and California. Reporting directly to the HR Director, this role will lead a team of three HR professionals dedicated to regional initiatives.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5 PM, onsite
  • Travel requirements: up to 50% (including quarterly visits to all supported facilities and an annual trip to Corporate)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver onsite HR support at the Des Plaines distribution center by driving HR practices and objectives.
  • Lead a team of three HR business partners supporting distribution centers in Denver, CO, Tacoma, WA, and Fontana, CA.
  • Advise and guide Distribution Center leadership on employee relations, legal compliance, staffing strategies, and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee Performance Management processes across all four locations, including talent reviews, annual performance evaluations, succession planning, and employee development.
  • Conduct investigations in Des Plaines, IL, and mentor HR Associates to ensure comprehensive investigations and resolutions.
  • Manage administrative tasks in Des Plaines, including payroll adjustments, I9 management, and file maintenance, while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Support Union activities, including grievance resolution and bargaining strategies at the Fontana, CA location.
  • Travel requirements: up to 50% (including quarterly visits to all supported facilities and an annual trip to Corporate)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience as the primary HR leader in a distribution or manufacturing setting.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (preferably in HR or Business).
  • Knowledge and training in HR competencies such as talent management, employment law, compensation and benefits, organizational planning, employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and health and safety.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources roles.
  • Preferred candidates will have 3-4 years of experience in a distribution center or manufacturing environment with a workforce of 40 or more.
