Key Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities:

  • Gain insight into the operations of a Human Resources (HR) Department.
The HR department manages all aspects related to personnel, including recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, and employee relations.

  • Provide essential administrative and office support to the HR team, assisting various stakeholders including faculty, staff, and community members.
Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information. Adhere to established policies and procedures, escalating issues as necessary.

Candidate Requirements:

Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled at Oakton College with a minimum of 6 credit hours during the academic year.
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher and be in good academic standing.
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to interact professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient in data entry and manipulation using computers.
  • Familiarity with various digital communication tools, including documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required; advanced skills are preferred. Familiarity with Google Suite is also advantageous.

Selection Process:

Candidates will undergo assessments in Word and Excel as part of the interview process.
