Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the satisfaction of customers, team members, and vendors by overseeing the maintenance of all facilities, machinery, and equipment. This position is dedicated to maintaining and repairing the infrastructure and production equipment necessary for the efficient operation of dairy product manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the maintenance team, focusing on developing skills and preparing team members for advancement.
  2. Oversee ongoing repair projects, ensuring technicians remain focused until completion and providing guidance during equipment repairs.
  3. Ensure all maintenance and troubleshooting of food processing and packaging machinery is executed effectively, requiring expertise in both electrical and mechanical systems.
  4. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the maintenance department, aligning activities with strategic objectives.
  5. Collaborate with manufacturing and environmental health and safety teams to align maintenance efforts with operational reliability and project engineering.
  6. Conduct regular meetings with manufacturing to address equipment maintenance concerns, aiming to enhance efficiency in line with long-term strategic goals.
  7. Manage essential equipment operations, including inventory of key parts, preventative maintenance programs, and daily maintenance activities.
  8. Continuously improve standard operating procedures related to maintenance programs to meet company and customer standards.
  9. Oversee repair and maintenance budgets, implementing cost-saving measures while achieving efficiency targets.
  10. Plan and execute capital expense projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and budget constraints.
  11. Innovate and implement new procedures to enhance operations, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization.
  12. Establish policies to ensure the efficient operation of the maintenance department.
  13. Recruit and hire qualified maintenance personnel.
  14. Assess performance and work with team members to set and achieve professional goals.
  15. Analyze processes for inefficiencies and propose solutions.
  16. Train maintenance technicians to ensure comprehensive knowledge of all equipment and systems.
  17. Coordinate with external contractors for scheduled and emergency maintenance tasks.
  18. Be available for unscheduled support and assistance outside of regular working hours.
  19. Deliver exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.
  20. Embrace a mindset of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance processes.
  21. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety and quality protocols.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in industrial/manufacturing, engineering, or a related field.
  2. Five years of supervisory experience; experience in food manufacturing is advantageous.
  3. Three years of experience with production line equipment.
  4. Three years of experience with HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems.
  5. Experience with programmable logic controllers and instrumentation.
  6. Technical training or certification in electrical or mechanical fields.
Work Environment:
  1. Requires flexibility in scheduling, including mornings, afternoons, and overnight shifts.
  2. Work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions and food manufacturing ingredients.
  3. Physical demands include the ability to move throughout the facility and perform tasks requiring physical strength.
