ABOUT THE ARC:The Salvation Army (TSA) Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) provides a no-cost program aimed at assisting individuals in their journey towards rehabilitation. As an enthusiastic and dedicated RETAIL OPERATIONS ASSISTANT MANAGER, your responsibilities will include:
  • Actively collaborating with the Store Manager in the daily operations of the store.
  • Overseeing all daily store functions in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Providing guidance, training, and development to store staff.
  • Ensuring customer and donor needs are met by maintaining strong community relations; addressing complaints promptly and efficiently.
  • Communicating personnel matters to management in the Store Manager's absence, including issuing disciplinary actions, performance evaluations, and setting goals in coordination with HR and district management.
  • Maintaining store standards in accordance with ARC merchandising guidelines and ensuring adequate inventory levels.
  • Managing backroom processing to meet daily operational goals in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Safeguarding cash in registers and ensuring proper banking procedures are followed.
  • Assisting the Store Manager in implementing safety measures in line with ARC policies and regulations.
  • Executing appropriate loss prevention strategies.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by management and retail directors.

Qualifications for this position include:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A minimum of 2 years of retail management or supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in handling POS and cash register operations.
  • A valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Successful completion of a background check, including criminal history and sex offender registry.
  • Effective communication skills with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist intermittently or continuously.
  • Capability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, clothing carts, and merchandise fixtures.
  • Ability to lift products weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
  • Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Schedule:Our stores operate seven days a week. Work schedules are determined by management, and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Full-time associates may be scheduled for any shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
