Position Overview:
Beaver Creek Sports, situated in our village, is seeking a committed individual to join their ranks. We are in search of an Assistant Store Manager who is adept at engaging with premium ski brands and delivering exceptional customer service to every visitor. Key responsibilities will encompass assisting the Store Manager in leading a team of approximately 10-12 staff members, managing daily sales, rentals, and operational functions of the store to achieve optimal profitability, efficiency, and a top-tier guest experience. Duties will also include accurately processing store transactions through a cash register and generating sales by establishing professional and personalized rapport with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fulfill manager-on-duty responsibilities as scheduled.
- Assist in upholding and coordinating operational standards by adhering to company policies and guidelines.
- Maintain and exemplify high retail, merchandising, and cleanliness standards as established by the Store and Regional Manager.
- Support the Store Manager in ensuring sales are generated while demonstrating and maintaining a positive and professional standard of guest service.
- Ensure all company documentation is maintained according to policies and standards.
- Assist the Store Manager in monitoring and managing daily operational budgets, including payroll.
- Support the Store Manager in recruiting and retaining a quality core staff.
- Assist in onboarding and training new employees in POS systems, product knowledge, guest service, and sales techniques.
- Help communicate company values and objectives to the team.
- Lead inventory management and strive to meet or exceed inventory targets.
- Enforce company cash handling and other loss prevention policies and procedures.
- Stay informed on new industry products and trends; demonstrate product knowledge.
- Exhibit a positive attitude, motivation, and the ability to multitask.
- Communicate ideas or concerns with the Store Manager.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of retail experience required, preferably in snow sports retail.
- At least 1 year of management experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule; stores operate 7 days a week with varying hours based on location, season, and store type.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with rental and retail POS systems.
The anticipated pay range for this position is $25 - $27.50. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Individual compensation decisions are based on various factors.
