Job Overview:

The Systems Integration division plays a pivotal role in the advancement and execution of Combat Systems modifications for the DDG-51 Destroyer Program and the next-generation DDG(x) Destroyer initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Combat Systems Engineering Team.
  • Serve as the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) with the Navy regarding funded Combat Systems modifications.
  • Ensure timely processing of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for the DDG 51 Class.
  • Guarantee that all ECPs adhere to relevant functional engineering and Navy specification standards.
  • Collaborate with the Navy, contractors, Class Design, and various engineering teams to address technical challenges and create necessary documentation.
  • Assist in the development of precise implementation strategies.
  • Support the Estimating team in formulating accurate cost assessments.
  • Provide technical guidance to Manufacturing for resolving Combat Systems-related challenges.
  • Deliver technical leadership across all Combat Systems initiatives.
  • Prepare and present reports to management and Navy representatives.
  • Generate Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for urgent Combat Systems Engineering tasks.
  • Engage in and/or lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) during the initial phases of ship modifications.
  • Occasionally represent the team in off-site meetings and other events.
  • Lead special projects as assigned.
  • Act as the primary contact for Combat Systems-related inquiries.

Education and Training Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience is required.

Experience Preferences:

  • At least 12 years of experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with ship construction specifications is preferred.
  • Experience with Installation Control Drawings and Technical Data Packages is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel for business purposes is necessary.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet deadlines is crucial.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with diverse groups within the company and among prime contractors are required.
  • Excellent research skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Self-motivation and a collaborative spirit are necessary.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong computer skills are required.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities are mandatory.
  • Capability to obtain a Government Secret Clearance is necessary.
  • This position requires the ability to secure a government security clearance, and candidates must be U.S. Citizens to be considered.
