Job Overview:

The Systems Integration division is integral to the advancement and execution of Combat Systems modifications within the DDG-51 Destroyer Program and the upcoming DDG(x) Next Generation Destroyer initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Combat Systems Engineering Team.
  • Serve as the Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) with the Navy for funded Combat Systems modifications.
  • Ensure that Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) for the DDG 51 Class are processed according to established timelines.
  • Verify that all ECPs comply with relevant functional engineering and Navy specification standards.
  • Collaborate with the Navy, contractors, Class Design, and Change Management teams to address technical challenges and draft necessary correspondence.
  • Assist in the development of precise implementation plans.
  • Support the Estimating team in generating accurate cost assessments.
  • Provide technical assistance to Manufacturing for resolving Combat Systems-related issues.
  • Deliver technical leadership across all Combat Systems initiatives.
  • Prepare and present reports to management and Navy representatives.
  • Generate Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for urgent Combat Systems Engineering tasks.
  • Engage in and/or lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) during the initial phases of ship modifications.
  • Occasionally represent the team in off-site meetings and events.
  • Lead special projects as designated.
  • Act as the primary contact for Combat Systems-related inquiries.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ship construction specifications is advantageous.
  • Experience with Installation Control Drawings and Technical Data Packages is beneficial.
  • Willingness to travel for business purposes is necessary.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Excellent research capabilities and attention to detail are essential.
  • Self-driven with a proven track record of teamwork.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong computer skills are required.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Government Secret Clearance is required.
  • This position necessitates the ability to secure a government security clearance, and candidates must be U.S. Citizens to be considered.
