Position Overview

In this pivotal role, you will significantly contribute to our organization's success by crafting and composing persuasive proposals while engaging in various projects and initiatives. You will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, project managers, and executive teams to grasp client requirements, analyze market trends, and convert complex technical language into engaging and convincing content.

The Proposal Development and Content Specialist is primarily tasked with creating tailored responses to Requests for Information/Proposals/Quotes (RFI/RFP/RFQ) for submission to potential clients, ensuring adherence to response guidelines. Additional duties encompass technical writing, managing the content repository, preparing supplementary information for previously submitted proposals such as presentations or other materials, and participating in other departmental initiatives and activities.

Compensation: $80k-$90k

Key Responsibilities
  • Leads the proposal development process, managing multiple projects, teams, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Works with internal stakeholders to collect information, devise winning strategies, and confirm project viability.
  • Evaluates RFP requirements to determine the necessary information for inclusion in the response and identifies the appropriate colleagues for the bid team.
  • Coordinates with all departments and executive leadership to compile response materials, ensuring a precise and current proposal that addresses customer challenges and illustrates the value of collaboration with our organization.
  • Crafts high-quality proposals utilizing input from various sources in a clear, responsive, and logical manner while ensuring compliance with request specifications.
  • Oversees the logistics of the proposal submission process, adhering to deadlines through various delivery methods.
  • Plans and prepares presentations that align with previously submitted proposals; organizes meetings with the presentation team to develop customized client-specific presentations.
  • Creates original content through compelling narratives that showcase our strengths, expertise, and value proposition.
  • Manages timelines and accountability for all requested deliverables from internal stakeholders.
  • Maintains processes for tracking and managing document review cycles; solicits, evaluates, and incorporates ongoing feedback from management to maximize the effectiveness of our messaging.
  • Reviews and edits content, proposals, presentations, or other materials prepared by colleagues to ensure consistent messaging, style, formatting, and branding in accordance with organizational quality standards.
  • Conducts research to understand client needs, project scope, and competitive landscape to develop optimal proposal responses, presentation decks, or supporting marketing materials.
  • Engages in ongoing training to enhance understanding of company operations, technology applications, and systems administration.
Contributes to the strategic sales enablement plan; aids in continuous improvement for the department, along with other activities to support the sales, marketing, and communications needs of the organization.

Qualifications
  • Strong writing skills with familiarity in marketing and communications practices.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules and respond to assignments with minimal notice.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in professional proposal development, particularly technical responses for government RFPs, is preferred.
  • Experience in original content writing, sales and/or marketing support, and presentation development is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software applications and Adobe Acrobat is essential.

  • Familiarity with additional systems or applications such as AI, Loopio, Salesforce, Seismic, or similar.
  • Experience in the security service industry or professional services marketing.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate's, bachelor's, and/or master's degree (preferred).
  • PMP certification (enhances hiring consideration).
