Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our team at NOMS Healthcare. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet Patients and Families: Welcome patients and families in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner, creating a positive first impression of our medical office.
  • Manage Patient Data: Update and maintain accurate patient information, insurance details, and collect co-pays or outstanding balances in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Answer Phones and Respond to Messages: Answer phone calls in a pleasant and professional manner, screen calls, take messages, and provide information to patients and families.
  • Process Documents and Faxes: Scan documents, identify and process faxes, and file them in the appropriate folders and charts.
  • Establish and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public, ensuring a positive and respectful experience for all.
  • Comply with Regulations: Adhere to all HIPAA and OSHA regulations and policies, maintaining the confidentiality and security of patient information.
  • Complete Administrative Tasks: Complete necessary paperwork, such as encounter forms, and use a computer system to generate information for billing purposes.
  • Maintain a Clean and Organized Environment: Ensure the waiting area, including the beverage area and reading materials, is clean, tidy, and well-maintained.
  • Schedule Appointments and Testing: Schedule testing and procedures, as well as patient appointments with other physicians, and relay necessary messages to staff.
  • Coordinate Patient Movement: Oversee the waiting area, coordinate patient movement, and report any problems or irregularities to the healthcare team.
  • Attend Meetings and Assist with Office Tasks: Attend meetings as required and assist with the care and maintenance of office equipment.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service setting, preferably with six months of experience in a healthcare setting and experience with office equipment.
  • Skills: Knowledge of reception tasks, clinic policies and procedures, paperwork, and office equipment, as well as excellent customer service skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
