Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Lead to join our team at Nationwide Children's Hospital. As a key member of our Ambulatory Clinics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of patients through our system, coordinating with staff to assign workload, and ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage the workload of Patient Access Representatives to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
  • Provide support to line staff, answering questions of immediacy and serving in a supervision capacity as needed.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and develop assigned staff, providing timely feedback, coaching, and counseling.
  • Assist in identifying areas for improvement and implementing workflow and special projects.
  • Ensure scheduled patients are accurately pre-registered and managed care requirements are met prior to arrival.
  • Assist in training new Patient Access staff and maintain staff work schedules.
  • Maintain quality and productivity metrics, reporting to supervisor as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years' experience in scheduling, billing, registration, insurance authorization, or customer service, with a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with peers and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.
